Since I am residing at Nanganallur, I will start my first post on The Bhaktha Anjaneya Temple at Nanganallur in Chennai & will cover different temples in and around Chennai and their heritage, history, divinity.
History of the Temple
Sri Maruti Bhakta samajan trust, consisting of people with high
spiritual beliefs, wanted to erect Hanuman Temple, with the blessings of Sri
Ragavendra swami and Sri Kanchi Paramacharyar & entrenched the 32 foot idol of
Sri Anjaneyar in 1989 and performed the Kumbabishekam in 1995. The
distinguished factor of the 32 feet idol is that it was molded out of a
single rock.
Sacredness of the Temple
The Bhaktha Anjaneya Swamy Temple situated at Nanganallur, Chennai is known for bestowing better health to the devotees. The idol of the Anjaneyar Swamy is 32 Feet in height making it one of its kind. Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Seetha with Hanuman, Lord Ganapathy, Lord Krishna with his consoles Bhama and Rukmini are also finding a prominent structures inside the temple. The Idol is believed to have a special power and is considered a healer to all problems of the devotees.
Location of the Temple
Nanganallur, is situated about 6 kms from Airport and 10 Kms from the City, is known for temples. Lots of temples are situated in Nanganallur and the famous Viswaroopa Hanuman Temple is also situated here. The temple has become the landmark and is attracting lots of tourist. The temple is accessible by road and by suburban trains stops at Pazhavanthangal Railway Station.

Evening : 4.30 pm to 9.00 pm
Saturday is considered to be a sacred day for Lord Hanuman and devotees gather in large number to have a darshan on that day.
